THE LOTT FAMILY

Arthur and James Lott came from South Carolina with 700 head of cattle, accompanied by a colony which left Bulloch county enroute to Alabama, via Columbus. Dan, the son of Arthur, was an invalid, becoming indisposed and fatigued from their journey, and remained somewhere in the neighborhood of Douglas, to recuperate. He and his sons, Dan, Joe, and Mark, decided to locate and settle near Douglas.

Dan married Lucy Peterson; She died leaving Elisha, Joe, Dan, John, Arthur, Hester, Marcissa, Mary (called "Pink"), Martha, Jesse and Mark. He next married Fannie Gaskins. Their children were: Elias, Dave and Seward.

Elisha, son of Dan, married Mary Moore. Their children were: Dan, Jonnie, Elisha, Jewel, Polly, Lucy, Sarah, and Martha.

Dan, son of Elisha, married Matilda Vickers. They had thirteen children. Becky married Tom Douglas; Lucy married Bartow Morris; Mattie married John Roberts; Daisy married William Morris; Olive married J. Adams; Minnie married S. Adams; Reason married Minnie Pearson; Daniel married Roxy Morris; Eli married Fanny Belle McKinnon; Clif and Henry never married.

John M., son of Elisha married Lucinda Stickland; one son, Dr. Cleveland.

Elisha, son of Elisha, married Becky Vickers.

Jewel married Gertrude Smith.

Mary, or Polly, married Jim Lott, son of Mark. Their children were: Jesse, John, Martha, who married Smith; Minnie, who married W. Kirkland; Delilah, who married Jacob Vickers; Wayne and Jackson.

Lucy, daughter of Elisha, married Eli Vickers. Their son, Henry, married Della McCranie; Jack married Rose McCranie; Elisha married Luna Warren; he died. Micajah married Ida Daniel's, daughter of Tom. Warren married Lenora Harper, she died; Dan, Herbert, and Eli.

Sarah, daughter of Elisha, married Speed Jake Paulk. Mattie or Martha, daughter of Elisha, married R.V. Douglas, of Lakeland,Fla.

Joe, son of Dan the elder, married Beattie Vickers. Their children were: Becky, Lucy, Narcissa, Pink, Martha, Mary, Arthur, Jesse, Dan, Wiley, William, Babe and Elisha.

Becky, daughter of Joe, married Elijah Paulk. They have twelve children: Mary, Narcissa, Betsy, Lila, Clif, Tom, John, Joe, Jesse, Hannibal and Dan.

Lucy married Cushay Harper, son of Glenn. Their children were: Jack, who went to Florida; Elbert, and Beatty, who married in Colquitt county.

Pink, daughter of Joe, married Griffin Lindsey. Their children were: Mary died, John single.

Martha, daughter of Joe, married Jesse Rodgers. No children.

Mary, daughter of Joe, married Lindsey.

Arthur, son of Joe, married Mary Harper, daughter of Jake Harper.

Jesse, son of Joe, married Tishie Vickers, she died; he then married Miss Spivey.

Dan, son of Joe, went to Florida.

Wiley, son of Joe, married Miss Newborn, she died.

William, son of Joe, married Miss Lindsey.

Elisha B., married Nancy Youngblood; children John and Jesse D.

Babe, not married.

Martha, daughter of old Dan, married Mary Douglas.

Elias, son of Dan and Fanny Gaskins, married Tempy Douglas. Their children were: Mary, married Joe Pafford; Fanny married Big Dan Paulk, who died, she then married Ed Cross. Dan married Miss Dean, whose mother was a Wilcox.

Dave, son of old Dan, married Elizabeth Bird.

Seward, son of old Dan Lott, married Ava Peterson. She died, leaving Mattie, who married Judge Langford of Coffee County; Laura, who married J.L. Paulk, of Ocilla; Lila, who married Tom Fillengen, and Bessie who married Bailey. Seward next married Sallie Luke, daughter of old Marcus Luke of Fitzgerald.

Dan, son of old Dan, married Nancy Wilcox. Their daughter , Babe, married Elias Hinson of Jeff Davis county. They raised a large family. Their son, Elias, was killed at a turpentine still in July, 1911.

Lucy, daughter of old Dan, married Bald-headed Tom Paulk. Arthur, son of old Dan, married Eliza Carver.

Hester, daughter of old Dan, married Elias Moore. Their children were: Aaron, Arthur, Elisha, and Francis.

Aaron married Fanny Daughtry. Their children were: Elisha, Henry, Alex, William, Thoda, Fanny and Mattie.

Arthur, son of Hester, married Matilda Giddens. Their children were: Mona , Aaron, Jim, Molly and Annie.

Elisha, son of Hester, married Miss Meeks of Appling county. Their children were: Elias married Miss Meeks; Dan married Annie Kirkland. Lucy married Charlie Meeks; Hetty married M. Pafford; Betsy married M. Daughtry, he died; she then married Jesse Pafford; Sarah married Marcus Pafford.

Frances, daughter of Hester , married Jim Overstreet.

Narcissa, daughter of old Dan, married William Weeks. One child, Elizabeth, married Ben H. Pearson.

Mary, called Pink, daughter of old Dan, married Pearson. Mary Married Joe Kirkland.

John, son of old Dan, married Mary Jane Wilcox. Their children were: Wash, Elizabeth, Lucy, Minnie, and Narcissa.

Wash married Mary Ann Moore. Their children were: Mary, who married Elisha Vickers, son of Wiley; Lucy, who married Louis Vickers; Jesse, Warren and Elizabeth, who married Moore; he died, she then married J. Gaskins. Children, Tom and Belle.

Minnie, daughter of John, married Frank Sweat; he was killed in an automobile and she next married J. Moore.

Narcissa, daughter of John, married Dr. John Hall.

Lucy, daughter of John, married Simon Douglas.

Elizabeth, daughter of Elisha, married Wiley Vickers.

Arthur, son of old Dan, married Eliza Carver.

Mark, son of old Dan, married Holland Gaskins. She died. Children were: Martha, who married Anderson; Dave and Lucy, single. Arthur went to Texas. Mark next married Rhoda Davis; children, Dan who was killed at a saw mill; Holland and Joe.

Old Joe Lott had one child, Dan, who married Miss Mobley. Their children were: Warren married Miss Williams; Fanny married Sirmans; Betty married Quincy, of Florida; John married Miss Bailey; Walter married Georgia Bailey; Joe single. They all settled in Ware County.

Old Mark Lott married Mittie Ward. Their children were: Jim, who married Polly Lott; Lottie who married Hargroves; Markey, who married Ward; Zethy, who married Garrison; Zoe and Giles. They all settled in Coffee county.
